Discussion in the Provincial House of Ghent, East Flanders

This morning I had the opportunity to discuss our subsidy application with the Province of East Flanders — exciting, but above all, hopeful! 🤞

In the coming years, we want to continue building the future of the Seidemann School with two important goals:

1* Renovation and expansion of sanitary facilities, including handwashing stations, in accordance with UNICEF's "WASH in Schools" program.

In collaboration with Humasol, we also want to introduce EcoSan toilets—sustainable toilets that separate feces and urine. The feces are reused as fertilizer in the vegetable garden. This prevents groundwater pollution and contributes to a healthy living environment. This system already exists in several African countries, but is still new in Gambia.

2* In addition, we dream of adding two additional levels to our school, so that children can continue to receive quality education at our school for a longer period before transferring to a government school in Brikama. 📚

A nice step forward, and now… fingers crossed! 🤞
