Why sponsor a child?

Sponsor 100 € per year and give a Seidemann child the hope for a better future and the feeling that someone else in the world is thinking of them.

Our aim is that every child can receive regular and good education, because this is the key to their development and a better future.

For years we have been aware that many children do not attend school regularly because their parents cannot afford the school fees, uniforms, school supplies and other costs. When you earn little, you have to choose: do you spend your money on food, rent, medical expenses or school fees? You have undoubtedly seen in our photos children with torn or too small uniforms and shoes, without a school bag,…

• Through our sponsorship project we relieve parents of all additional costs on top of the regular school fees such as uniform, shoes, sports T-shirt, school bag, writing materials, books, ...  
• Thanks to your sponsorship, children from the most vulnerable families are given the opportunity to receive a quality education.
• They will feel more valued and their motivation to succeed will get a huge boost.
• The support of a sponsored parent gives the child more self-confidence and belief in their abilities, allowing them to leave our school with confidence.

Sponsor 100 € per year

With a contribution of just 100 euros per year, you not only relieve the parents financially, but you also contribute to the sustainable operation of the school.

This 100 euros per year enables us to guarantee the following:

• The sponsored children are always provided with a proper uniform, socks, shoes, a sports T-shirt and sports shorts.
• Sponsored children receive all necessary learning materials such as textbooks, notebooks, book bags and writing materials.
• As part of a better health policy, all children at the school receive a piece of fruit.
• Sponsored children receive a solid education so that after level 4 they are well prepared to move on to the “lower basic school” in Brikama.
• Sponsored children who start in Level 1 and only speak their local language will be able to read and write perfect English when they leave school.
• We attach great importance to helping all students develop a healthy self-image.
• Twice a year, a mobile dental practice visits the school to address dental problems in the children.
• A good foundation for healthy teeth is laid through information, brushing instructions and actual visits to the dentist.

Duration of the sponsorship

• The sponsorship is for a minimum of one year, but we hope that you will continue to sponsor until your child leaves the Seidemann School. You will be contacted annually in July for the contribution for the following school year, unless you let us know otherwise.
• Should you decide to stop sponsoring before the child leaves school after level 4, we ask that you inform us in a timely manner. Ending sponsorship has a significant impact on the child and their family, and we must handle this with care. Please let us know at least 6 months in advance, so that we have time to find a new sponsor parent for the child.
• If desired, we will continue to monitor the sponsored child with you after it has left the Seidemann School.
